unto flight
September 21, 2009
my cocoon is your fine linen
you hold me close
i am spun up in your love
jealousy keeps me hidden
that forms me as a butterfly
paints my wings red
one day
unto flight
(butterfly to dove to eagle)
behind a hedge, a beauty
September 11, 2009
a rose turned from a bulb to blossom
opening in new hue of love
the freedom in growth
the freedom to change
a beautiful beauty
that commands the tenderness of hands
and the attention of senses
a king found such a rare blossom
that he build a hedge as his own garden
and hung a sign on the gate called “the King’s Home’
You who hold oceans in your palm

The sweet stretch from heaven to earth. I feel the pull of my seams coming undone to reveal beauty within. oh the vulnerability. oh the ache. the pain. to wait for the revelation of all this means. longing and waiting in one. intimacy to pregrancy. preparation to arrival. every garment starts from a thought to a thread. one by one the constellations arranged from stars dying one by one. the explosion of life. the seed burst open. the ground breaks. tender greenary springs up. simple. delicate beginnings. blood and tears. the baby is born. process and suddenly go hand in hand. And I stand here wondering. pondering. the mysteries of divine love fit into this frame.

My eyes are awake before the watches of the night
that I may meditate on Your promise.

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.
…..
A time to plant and a time to uproot
A time to break down and a time to build up
A time to weep and a time to laugh
A time to mourn and a time to dance
A time to wait in silence and a time to speak up
…..

at ocean
June 18, 2009
The ocean tide is flooding the shoreline and His underto draws me into deeper love where there is no footing. I am swept away by His wisdom and beckoning that calls me forward into His gaze. My toes search for ground but my heart soars with delight.
His goodness is unfathomable. Just when fear tried to hold me back, He broke open the doors and presented me to His palace of satisfaction, beauty in every detail.

There comes a time when prayer can no longer be pretty, containted, or pattern. The microphone must fall to the floor and the instruments come to a still. Communion begins breaking into the silence of the air and all the while He finds it breathtaking, contained in the permameters of His presence, poetic to the rhythms of His heart: our hearts bare before Him. Teach me Jesus how to open my heart to You.
Lewis says it
June 16, 2009
“If I discover within myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world”
“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless–it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.”
“Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.”
“Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in. Aim at earth and you get neither.”
“This is one of the miracles of love: It gives a power of seeing through its own enchantments and yet not being disenchanted.”

could artwork made that is never heard or seen be as a silent prayer that reaches Father’s heart and possibly shakes a generation?

“Perceiving then that the people were about to come and take him by force to make him king, Jesus Christ withdrew again to the mountain by himself.” John 6:15
How many of us would say, “About time they see that I am the King.” But what was it that Jesus Christ knew in the mountain top of true acceptance and authority?
Prayer: Take me there. And when I am there help me to stay with love beaming in my heart because to the natural eye the crowds gather at the bottom but true hope comes from the mountains. May heart and eyes be one and the eyes of my heart be opened.
